Red Cedar
Spruce: A robust, light-coloured hardwood, Spruce is often knotty, giving it a distinct finish. It is favoured for its sturdy nature and tidy shape after cutting
Larch: Beginning life as a very pale timber, transforming to a silvery grey with age (and without treatment), Larch is very resistant to attack from insects and rot compared to Spruce.
Oak: A very dense hardwood, Oak is famed for its striking grain and the gorgeous silver colouring it adopts with age. Its density makes it very heavy and resilient to decay.
Thermowood: Heat treated to close up pores in the wood and remove resin within the wood fibres, Thermowood is a light timber which is tremendously resistant to warping from heat and moisture, carrying a rich colour which tends to darken with age.
Red Cedar: An exceptional durable hardwood, Western Red Cedar has a reddish coloring which gives it striking visual appeal. Resistant to warping, moisture and decay make this timber a favourite for attractive outdoor use.

Frequently asked questions

Wooden hot tubs should be drained for cleaning every 2-3 days. This can be extended with the use of chemicals or filtration systems for tubs with a fibreglass or polypropylene liner.

Chemicals can be used with lined tubs (fibreglass or polypropylene) where the water doesn’t come into contact with the timber facade but they are not required.
Using chemicals can allow the same water to be retained for longer, between cleaning.

This is a difficult question to answer, because it depends!
Wooden tubs are unsuitable for chemicals, which means water should be changed every 2-3 days when in regular use, with the lid fitted while not in use to ensure no debris finds its way in.
For lined tubs (fibreglass or polypropylene), chemicals such as chlorine, or filtration systems can be used to maintain water quality for a period running into weeks.
Following basic practices such as showering before using the hot tub can extend the period between cleans.
In a commercial setting (such as glamping sites or holiday rentals), water should be changed for each new guests’ arrival.

If heat logs of seasoned hardwood are used there will be minimal smoke produced. Burning treated/painted wood will produce more smoke as well as tar within the chimney and stove.

Hot tubs are blissfully quiet. The only noise you will hear is the gentle crackling from the burning logs and perhaps the occasional light roar from the flame in the flue. Many people find these sounds relaxing and they add to the calming experience.

Not at all. Unless you really neglect your tub it will last for years with minimal effort. Wood naturally releases a gentle antiseptic that will help to protect your product.

HEATER TYPES

Discover The One That Lights Your Fire

The stove isn’t just the heart of your tub… It’s the centrepiece around which everything is built. Find the fire that warms your Soul.

Royal Tubs - Hot Tub

Internal Heater

Built within the structure of the hot tub, internal stoves allow direct heat transfer with no danger to little hands and bare legs. Separated by a fence inside the tub, internal heaters are a subtle feature that let your Royal Tub’s natural features take centre stage.

Hot Tub - Royal Tubs

Air flow is regulated thanks to the stove lid which features a wide handle for safe use. The side-channel on the right ensures that air can reach the heart of the fire to regulate its intensity.

Royal Tubs - Table

The bottom of the stove is fitted with two channels where the heat is at its most intense. Due to the gravitation effect, the warm water within the stove naturally rises into the bathing area, allowing the heat to be distributed without pumps or valves.

Royal Tubs - Appliance

External Heater

The external stove stands apart from your tub taking up no space within the bathing area. Use this freedom to stretch out and relax, or add two more people to your party! Cleaning, lighting and reloading the fire is also made easier, with full access available to the chamber.

Royal Tubs - Kitchen

Air flow is regulated using vents on the loading door. The side-channel on the right ensures that air can reach the core of the fire to increase its intensity. The ashpan is easily accessible from the front of the unit, making maintenance a breeze.

Gravitation allows warm water within the stove to naturally rise into the bathing area, allowing heat to be distributed without pumps or valves.

Electric Heaters

Looking To Set And Forget?

Wood-fired stoves are adored for the atmosphere they create, but we know sometimes you want to lift the lid and jump straight in…

Electric Heaters let you keep your tub up to temperature, so you can slip in at a moment’s notice.

We can fit your tub with an electric heater alongside, or in place of a wood-fired heater so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

ELECTRIC HEATER

Remote Application

The in.touch 2 streamlined iOS or Android applications make it very easy to control and program all the functions and features of your spa from your smartphone or your tablet.

Even when you’re away from home, you get a full control of your spa systems and led lights, water temperature, economy modes, heating schedules and a lot more. Push notifications will always keep you informed on the status of your spa, even when your app is not open.

Very little! If good-quality logs are used, the ash will need to be emptied from the stove periodically.

You can remove ash from the stove easily using the tools provided. The ash can be composted or used in the garden as a fertiliser.

If heat logs of seasoned hardwood are used there will be minimal smoke produced. Burning treated/painted wood will produce more smoke as well as tar within the chimney and stove.

As a general indicator, a larger hot tub will require 6-8 good-quality logs to heat up from cold. This will vary depending on a range of factors including the size of your tub, weather, and when your tub was last used.

We recommend using seasoned hardwood (moisture content <20%) or heat logs.

Depending on when it was last used, the wood being burned, the size of the tub and the weather conditions, the tub will reach temperature in 1-3 hours. If the tub is being heated from cold, 1.5-2 hours is a reasonable expectation.
